World Trade Center Gallery

UPDATE 12/1: Captions added, tighter edit on photographs
Here is a gallery of photographs I took from the past week in and around the WTC site.
- Tourists take pictures of the Ground Zero construction site and its surroundings.
- A man sells an information packet filled with conspiracy-fueled literature about 9/11 and the United States. The brochure, along with the man selling it, claims that the events of September 11th were an inside job.
- A construction worker yells for his coworkers(right) while a tourist walks by.
- On the way to Tower 4.
- The site of Towers 2 and 3 at Ground Zero.
- Construction workers dig up earth at the site of Tower 4 in Ground Zero.
- No matter the weather, there is always a layer of mud to wade through when working at Ground Zero.
- Preparing to dig up earth near Tower 4 at Ground Zero.
- Tying up a block of cement near Tower 4.
- With a circumference of a large city block, the amount of machinery being used at Ground Zero sometimes gives the impression of being the size of construction toys.
- “I fucking love it down here man…its such an honor,” Joe, a construction worker at Ground Zero, remarks while taking a break.
- “I’m working 140 feet below street level in the mud…what do you think?” remarks the above construction worker, when asked how it feels to be working at The World Trade Center.
- Watching a load of cement being lowered to the site of Tower 4.
- Helping the crane operaters navigate a load of cement onto the site of Tower 4.
- Unloading the wet cement.
- Twilight at Ground Zero.
- Idle cranes at dusk at Ground Zero.
- Darkness creeps towards The World Trade Center site, but work continues.
It kind of takes from outside the site, all the way to the site of Tower 4. Because of the noise and workplace restrictions, almost no worker would talk to me, let alone give their name, but I feel like I got some decent shots out of the day.
To make things easier, here is a link to a slideshow of the same images.
